An exciting media sales management opportunity with a market leading trade publication and digital marketplace has become available. This is a fast paced and rewarding environment with huge opportunity for growth. The position will be part of the Sales team but will work closely internally with Customer Services, and the Production and Editorial teams. You’ll be dealing with all existing and potential advertisers including UK Antique Dealers, Service Providers and Fairs organisers in the UK.

Responsibilities:

  • Generation and growth of revenue through new business for Antiques Trade Gazette and development of existing accounts for the Run of Paper (ROP) section of the paper.

  • Expand and increase display advertising in the non-auctioneer sections of Antiques Trade Gazette primarily via telesales and face to face meetings.

  • Drive and develop digital media sales across all areas of opportunity.

  • Sell bespoke emails and advertising slots in email newsletters.

  • To achieve personal monthly sales targets in ROP and features sections of the gazette and its expansive webpage.

  • Develop and sell advertising features and supplements in Antiques Trade Gazette.

  • Prospect new leads by visiting dealers, antique centres and fairs.

  • Develop stronger and more effective commercial relationships and links with UK antique dealers.

  • Build strong relationships with senior figures throughout the UK antiques trade.

  • To accurately schedule client advertising and maintain control of their positional needs in both the long and short term.

  • Develop sophisticated and proactive client account management.

  • Manage and develop the Auction Calendar, Fairs & Markets Executive.

Key Skills/ Experience:

  • Enthusiastic, creative and committed sales-person with 2-5 years’ experience of sales – ideally with 2+ years digital media sales experience.

  • Previous experience in and knowledge of publishing and/or the antiques industry is preferred.

  • Proven ability to generate new business revenue, source leads and close sales.

  • Excellent project and people management skills.

  • Face to face experience with meeting clients, instant credibility with senior figures is essential.

  • Innovative thinker, able to generate new ideas and act on them.

  • Self-starter, able to plan, organise and execute sales initiatives.

  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook) along with the experience of a Sales CRM System.

  • Excellent communication skills, as well as analytical, organisational and interpersonal skills.

  • Good objection handling skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

  • Excellent presentational skills to clients.

  • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
