Measuring 7ft 5in (2.26m) high it sold above expectations to a North of England dealer at £1950.

Not far behind was an 18th century mahogany chest of four drawers with brass loop handles, 2ft 91/2in (85cm) wide, which sold to the trade at £1750, while a Victorian mahogany cabinet bookcase with two arched moulded cupboards and two drawers, 7ft 3in high by 4ft wide (2.21 x 1.21m) attracted £1100, and a Regency mahogany cellaret with reeded legs and brass handles, 18in (46cm) wide, sold at £1000. Outside the furniture, a silver spirit kettle on stand by Walker and Hall, Sheffield 1928, weighing 45oz without the plated burner, attracted £540 from the trade and a George Jones circular cheese dish in the Basket Weave and Acorns pattern, dated 1885, sold at £400.
