Making her contribution to this excellent cause is Bath textiles dealer Joanna Proops of 34 Belvedere, Lansdown. She is pictured right with the pair of antique cushions covered with tambour-worked hand embroidery which, when sold, will mean the children’s charity will be £180 better off. The association raised a
commendable £4000 for the NSPCC last year through this and other schemes.
While mentioning that part of the world, I learn more of the BADA fair, upon the ups and downs of which I reported last week. Mac Humble of Woolley Street, Bradford on Avon, long a stalwart of BABADA, is also an active long-time member of the British Antique Dealers Association and has shown at all the BADA Fairs.
He tells me he has done consistently better business each year at all seven BADA Fairs in London, culminating in the most recent event where he sold 31 items, many of them furniture, to English private buyers.
