The trade arrived to view the 600 or so lots, but it was private ‘Saturday feeling’ buyers who purchased the higher value entries.
Nineteenth century furnishings provided the top prices; a Victorian mahogany dining table with two extra leaves measuring 8ft long (2.44m) extended, hit £2300.
This was followed by a Victorian mahogany bureau, 3ft (91cm) wide with a fall front enclosing two secret drawers to the side and four small drawers and pigeonholes over four long graduated drawers on bracket feet, which sold at £1400.
