Celtic beat Rangers when it came to a couple of 14in (36cm) rare handmade and painted 19th century ceramic models. The Rangers model failed to get away, but the Celtic player, pictured, brought £1000 from an Irish private bidder.

Attracting buyers from across the country the top seller was a 15 carat gold FA Cup winners medal from 1910 when Newcastle United defeated Barnsley 2-0 at Goodison Park.

Presented to Peter McWilliam, the medal was one of a selection of items consigned by Mr McWilliam, a former player for Newcastle and manager of the Tottenham Hotspur and Middlesbrough teams.
In its original case and engraved English Cup won by N.U.F.C. P.McWilliam, the medal had been estimated at £4000-5000 and went to a private buyer from the Newcastle area for £5000.

Also from Mr McWilliams was a programme from the 1921 Spurs v. Wolverhampton FA Cup Final at Stamford Bridge. Signed by the 11 members victorious Spurs team the programme brought a mid-estimate £1400.
