The highlight was a pair of Regency parcel gilt bronze chinoiserie table lustres in Royal Pavilion taste. Each modelled as a maiden carrying a parasol with cut glass drops, the 91/2 in (24cm) lustres made £3200.

Two early 19th century furniture lots, a mahogany chiffonier and a French quartered walnut ormolu-mounted bureau de dame each made £2500.

A cluster of caddies and caskets attracted healthy bidding.

A Sheraton inlaid and decorated satinwood work casket of sarcophagus form with two print panels and two burr yew panels with inlaid borders and floral marquetry, made £780; a Sheraton inlaid burr yew hexagonal caddy with floral and batswing oval medallions – made £480; and a George III scroll work hexagonal caddy adorned with swags and flowers realised £720.
