In contemporary red morocco, this copy was once in the library of Nicolas-Claude Fabri de Peiresc, a great French collector and bibliophile, but in 1998 it was as a volume in the Norman library that it made $180,000. It sold for $260,000, or £179,310 in the Freilich sale at Sotheby’s New York on January 10 and 11.
