Measuring 2in by 11/2in (5.5 x 3.7cm) the locket depicting a maiden to the front on a guilloche enamel background sold at £400. Appealing to the same sort of market, a Birmingham 1889 vesta case in the form of a book with enamel front cover showing a scene from Punch and Judy, sold at £580.
Topping the opening jewellery section by some way, an old-cut single stone 3.7ct diamond ring took £6000. The demand for Art Deco was again illustrated when a pair of sapphire and diamond earrings took £2900 against an £800-1000 estimate.
