Leslie Hunter’s panelled still life of white Roses dans un Vase, 22 x 18in (55 x 45cm), also doubled hopes with €58,000 (£36,200). Axel Reid of London was listed as the provenance.
Suzanne Valadon featured strongly at the Kohn Art sale on February 8; her 1920 still life, Nature Morte au Compotier, 24 x 20in (61 x 50cm), fetched €28,000 (£17,500), while her 1932 portrait of a tabby cat, Raminou et Pichet, panel 20 x 25in (52 x 64cm), claimed €40,000 (£25,000).
Raoul Dufy’s racy watercolour Fleurs dans un Vase Bleu, 24 x 20in (61 x 50cm), sold on low estimate for €69,500 (£43,400) while a grey Marquet view of deserted docks, entitled simply Le Port, 15 x 18in (38 x 46cm), struggled to €46,000 (£28,700).
Mucha’s Allégorie de l’Abondance in oil on canvas 2ft 10in x 5ft 11in (86cm x 1.80m) pulled in a top-estimate €39,500 (£24,650). This atypically academic composition, said to be inspired by Mucha’s distaste for contemporary society and clearly indebted to Couture’s Romains de la Décadence, was painted after Mucha’s return to Prague around 1910.

A large desert Caravane by Victor Huguet (c.1895), 4ft 4in x 6ft 8in (1.31 x 2.02m) and inspired by Fromentin, led the Delorme-Fraysse picture sale on February 12 with €82,000 (£51,200).
