Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen was searching for Arts and Crafts and Deco items for his programme Home Front while David topped up his trademark mahogany tan in the searing sun while trawling the outdoor pitches filming for his show Bargain Hunt.
On a serious trading note the presence of Mr Llewellyn Bowen emphasised the growing amount of serious designer stock now to the fore at Ardingly and while there were plenty of antiques to interest Mr Dickinson it was noted that good reproduction is also becoming a draw – which is fine as long as it is clearly separated from the antiques.
So, the sun and stars were out, and so were serious buyers since most exhibitors enjoyed a cracking good Ardingly.
