This year they made a spectacular debut at the June Olympia with a designer stand which became a talking point at all the summer fairs, and they return to Olympia next summer.
Last September they made their debut at the Paris Biennale and so pleased were the firm with their
fortunes they have decided to make Paris in September a permanent
fixture.
To this end they will be taking a stand at the Pavillon Des Antiquaires in the Tuileries Gardens from September 20 to 28, and, of course, back to the Biennale next year.
Shown right is a sample of what Vanderven & Vanderven are taking to Paris this month: a striking Han Dynasty (206BC-220AD) terracotta warrior with shield, 2ft 71/2in (80cm) high and priced at €45,000.
A love affair with Paris
WELL-known Dutch Oriental specialists Vanderven & Vanderven are stalwarts of Maastricht, Basel Cultura and the Grosvenor House fairs, but their taste for international events has been sharpened of late.
