David Evans, Deputy Warden of the London Assay Office, will open the morning session at 10.30am by introducing the speakers and explaining the role of the Antique Plate Committee of the Goldsmiths’ Company. This session ends with a short time for questions and answers from the floor to be answered by the speakers. During the afternoon, the “working parties” session will take place, hosted by a number of distinguished silver experts. A selection of authentic silver from the Goldsmiths’ Company Collection will be compared with rarely seen exhibits from the Black Museum of the London Assay Office. Each expert has their own inimitable style and this “hands-on” experience is immeasurably valuable. The day ends at 3.30pm.
To reserve a place, at £70 plus VAT (£82.25) per person, call Jacqueline O’Kelly on 020 7606 7010.
