Both figures were marginally higher that a record-breaking first quarter and roughly double equivalent figures for 2002. eBay now expect revenues to reach as much as $2.08bn this year although it is too early for analysts to predict the impact of the introduction of VAT that came into effect in Europe on July 1.
eBay shows sustained growth
Ebay, flourishing survivors of the e-commerce boom and bust, have again out-performed forecasts, showing continued strong growth in the second quarter of 2003. The California-based company, who now include the electronic-payments business PayPal in their revenues, showed profits of $109.7m on a turnover of $509.3m.
