Annie Townsend has been dealing in decorative textiles for some years and for the past 18 months has been successfully running Teagowns and Textiles in the town at 28 Broad Street.

She decided to launch a Vintage Textile and Costume Fair in Leominster and even more boldly decided her new fixture would be held four times a year. Her optimism was rapidly vindicated when she booked the Lion Ballroom for her first fair on Wednesday, September 10, and soon it was fully booked with some 35 dealers.

Annie is already assured of support from all her customers, many of whom visit her shop from overseas, and her network of dealers and collectors around the country have been encouraging. “The reception and support has been incredibly good throughout the trade,” she said.
Indeed, even before the September fair takes place she has lined up 70 dealers for a second fair in December and the only problem will be where to fit them all.

Admission to the Lion Ballroom, Broad Street will be £2 for the trade from 9.30am to 10.30am, £1 thereafter.
