Peter Jones is not the only big store to include antiques in its range of merchandise, but it is thought to be the first to join a trade association. “At first sight a department store does not seem a potential LAPADA member, but they are a long established firm who meet all the requirements in terms of quality, pricing and standards,” said LAPADA chief executive John Newgas. The department currently has a temporary home at PJ2 in Draycott Ave, along the road from the main store which is undergoing a £100m refit.
Peter Jones join LAPADA
One of London’s best known department stores, Peter Jones of Sloane Square, has been accepted as a member of LAPADA. It is not well known that the SW1 store includes a flourishing antiques department and has done for more than 90 years.
