The new venture, to be called Vectis USA, is part of Vectis’s ongoing expansion plans, which in the past has seen the company take over all toy sales for Sotheby’s in the UK and purchase Barry Potter Auctions.
Goodall believes twin transatlantic auction rooms will present new selling opportunities: “Diecast toys acquired in America but which would sell better here will sell at our auctions in Buckingham. Items acquired in the UK, Europe and elsewhere that we think will get a better return for their owners by being sold in the US will be sold in the States.”
York, Pennsylvania is the home of toy collecting in the United States, with many auction houses, dealers and collectors based in the area.

Vectis, the largest toy auctioneer in the world, with a turnover of £5m, is to open in America. Bryan Goodall, who has owned the Teesside company for seven years, has recently acquired The Diecast Toy Exchange, an auction house based in York, Pennsylvania.
