This fair is a favourite of many, particularly American visitors charmed by the original, picture-book village with its duck pond, village green and parish church.
With no more than 20 exhibitors, it is a small fair with mainly pre-1920 stock.
But it does generate business, which is why quite a few of the standholders have been turning up at Lindfield for more than two decades.
There are two newcomers on August 27 and 28, Glen Antiques from Middlesex, with rural bygones, and the well-known West Sussex period furniture specialists Wilsons of Worthing.
Plenty of dealers who became familiar faces on the fairs circuit cut their teeth here, as did one very well-known quality fair organiser. Caroline Penman launched the Lindfield Antiques Fair when she was a teenager.
Admission is £1.50.
