The fair will be held from September 22 to 26 and the Essex organiser has certainly proved the lure of the new venue by bringing in around 60 exhibitors, including some very well known names from the quality fairs circuit.

The Essex organiser can always be relied upon to add a bit of glitter to any of his events and plans to be up to form on this occasion. On the evening of Thursday September 23, from 6.30 to 8.30pm, he hosts a Champagne Gala Evening in aid of St. Gemma’s Hospice and Huntington’s Disease Association – Lord and Lady Harewood’s chosen charities. Tickets are £25 per person.

On the subject of admission, Antiques Trade Gazette subscribers with their complimentary privilege card generally get free admission to Bailey fairs.

Sadly, at Harewood the rules of the House (not Mr Bailey’s rules I emphasise) forbid such free entry.

However, an arrangement has been made whereby Antiques Trade Gazette subscribers can enter for £5 instead of the usual £10 fee.
