OVER the weekend of May 15-16, the Annapolis (Maryland) doll specialists, Theriault’s, sold $3m worth of dolls and automata in a Las Vegas sale that for the first time introduced live Internet bidding.
The automata collection of Christian Bailly, author of Automata: The Golden Age, was the main attraction and pictured here are two lots from a collection in which those buying the hardbound sale catalogue also received a DVD on which important pieces could be seen in action.
