On August 26, the Christie’s Tennis VIII, under the captaincy of Hugh Edmeades, retained the Burma Head Trophy against the British Antiques Dealers Association, by 17 sets to 12.

Then, two weeks ago, Christie’s cricket team played their annual match against the Art Trade. The Trade won the toss and batted first, scoring a daunting 186 all out in just under 30 overs (Roundell top scorer; Finch took two excellent catches).

Christie’s chased this total and, in an exciting finish, scored 187-6 off 29 overs (fine contributions from McVinish 38, Thompson 38, Hunter 36, and Robinson 22 not out). The trophy, a silver engraved plate, will soon be on display in the boardroom.

If anyone would like to be considered for team selection next year they should make themselves known to team captain Tim Hunter.
