The nightmare of the hunted's revenge on the hunter is a comic theme treated by a number of Victorian painters. Totally fresh to the market from a long-standing private source, this particular canvas measures 15 1/2 x 21in (39 x 54cm) and bears an unidentified monogram and the date 1858. The pre-sale estimate is £3000-5000.
