Constable edition of the works of Sir Walter Scott (1892-94), uniformly bound in half brown morocco gilt and green cloth boards, made £2800, while a collection of Thackeray first editions, the 19 works uniformly bound as 29 in full light tan polished calf gilt with coloured morocco lettering pieces, reached £3600.
