While individually no lot is expected to reach the £8000 that secured a pair of Lessons of Love chocolate cups painted by James Bamford c.1795 sold last year, several pieces are significant in their own right.

They include: a rare pair of polychrome-decorated basketwork sweetmeats c.1758-60 painted with exotic birds in a landscape to the interior bases; and a dessert plate c.1790 decorated with a landscape by Zachariah Boreman within a Sèvres-style border with six single rose reserves painted by William Billingsley. Pictured right is a fine teacup and saucer, c.1790, decorated to a rare emerald green with named views of Wootton Park, Staffordshire and Cotton Mill, Nr Matlock. The lot carries an estimate of £2000-2500. Contact 01543 263256 for more information.
