Acknowledged as one of Scotland’s leading restorers, Mr Trist, who learnt his trade at Rycot Woode College at Thame in Oxfordshire, is selling his entire collection of furniture, tools and stock on his retirement due to ill health. He has worked in Scotland for 25 years. In addition to textile sample books, leather hides, old and new brass fittings and hand tools, the sale includes sufficient rosewood veneer to cover an entire room plus bird’s eye maple flooring and other architectural elements salvaged during the recent restoration of the National Gallery of Scotland.
