Some 50 exhibitors will attend from June 4 to 6 and we are told that, as at all Bailey fairs, stock will be vetted for authenticity and quality.
You will find Bailey regulars at this fair, which is situated in one of the most intense dealing areas in the country, but I wonder what they will make of the ever-interesting organiser’s decision to include “Investment” in the fair’s title. This is the first fair to which Mr Bailey has attached that controversial word and he hopes to bring in extra visitors by giving the fair a new dimension. “Investment” will be added to the title of a selection of other Bailey events.
Another first for Bailey fairs is the inclusion of a wine seller in the fair. From Cheshire come Vineyards of Bordeaux whose speciality is obvious. For years, the principals have travelled to the Bordeaux region and revelled in the sunny clime and leisurely lunches. They decided to bring back the wine and turn it into a business.
Same standards but new twist as Bailey goes back to college
AFTER a five-year gap, Essex organiser Robert Bailey returns to Seaford College for his 30th Petworth Antiques, Fine Art and Investment Fair. He had many successful years at the college near Petworth in West Sussex, then he took a break due to some difficulties over the venue. Now he is back in the college’s Robertson Centre.
