Incidentally, and I don’t know whether its an attraction or distraction, Ruth tells me there will be two BBC antiques programmes being filmed at the castle over the fair weekend, Bargain Hunt with housewives’ choice David Dickinson and a new BBC2 series which, judging by its title Sun, Sea and Bargain Spotting, promises to be the silliest antiques show to date.
