He is a familiar figure on the quality fairs circuit and there can be few dealers who stand at more events than he does. Just 18 months ago, he opened a shop at Virginia Cottage, Lombard Street, Petworth and annually he produces an attractive and informative catalogue, well-indexed and well-illustrated. Above all, everything is priced.
Nicholas Shaw has just published this year’s catalogue and he feels it is his best to date, with 20 more pages than last year.
A varied array is on offer priced from around £250 up to £19,000 for this rare Charles I, 18oz lidded tankard, right, made in London 1661-62 by R.F. The catalogue is available free from the Petworth shop (Tel: 01798 345146).
