He tells me: "I am basically a shop dealer and although I exhibit at the BADA Fair each year I do not do either of the big London fairs in June. East Suffolk is always very busy in mid-June with the Aldeburgh Music Festival and associated events, so it makes sense to have a summer exhibition around this time."
While the Christmas exhibitions are usually themed, this summer show will be centred on a number of recently acquired items on display for the first time.
These include a 15th century stone figure of the Madonna with original traces of paint and a Henry VII English chest; a 16th century full tester bed and a 17th century William and Mary cushion frame mirror.
From the 18th century comes a charming pair of yew goblets and a Fulham stoneware tankard. And staying with drinking vessels, as is the custom at Suffolk House Antiques' exhibitions, visitors can wander around the gallery and garden fortified by a glass or two supplied by the local brewers and wine merchants Adnams of Southwold.
Singleton follows up festive success with Suffolk summer special
EAST Anglian early furniture specialist Andrew Singleton has, for many years, held a popular pre-Christmas selling exhibition at his shop, Suffolk House Antiques, in Yoxford High Street, and following the consistent success of these shows he is staging a summer version, opening on June 12 and running for a week.
