Catherine Hunt, the Chinese ceramics specialist from Cheltenham, sold particularly well and was one of a number who noted that their better pieces were selling first.
Staffordshire clocks dealer Roy Harris sold four clocks at the fair and has already tasted after-sales, while Nottinghamshire miniatures specialist Cynthia Walmsley left pleased with business. Smaller items of furniture were preferred to larger pieces.
Steady going at Chester
ALWAYS a steady fair, Caroline Penman’s Chester Antiques and Fine Art Show at the County Grandstand, Chester Racecourse from February 12 to 15, once again proved just that, ticking over nicely for most of the 60 exhibitors but with no surprises.
