The sixth was held this year from May 13 to 15 after moving from a late June slot, but the fixture has not found a consistent slot on the calendar.

Founded by Fran Foster following her successful Antiques For Everyone format at Birmingham’s NEC, this Scottish fixture is now, like the NEC events, owned and organised by London-based Clarion Events.

Having just completed work on a successful Olympia Clarion are now busily establishing themselves at Birmingham and admit they have yet to thoroughly examine the future of the Glasgow fairs. No date has yet been fixed for next year but it is thought decisions will be made this week.

While establishing the most successful ever Scottish fair was a major achievement for Fran Foster, the event, which last May hosted 90 exhibitors, may not be profitable enough for Clarion.
