Launched in July in New York and South Kensington, this real-time, multi-media auction feature will now be available at both the King Street and Amsterdam salerooms as of early December.

Christie’s report $2.8m (£1.5m) sold online in 42 ‘live’ sales, with over 6700 online bids accepted during the first three months of trials. They also reported 1700 clients registered to bid using Christie’s Live, of which 41 per cent were new to the auctioneers.

The first King Street sale to feature online bidding was the Prints auction on December 5, while Christie’s Live’s first airing in Holland is on December 12 at the sale of Dutch Silver, Judaica, Russian Works of Art and Objects of Vertu.
