The service, provided by ATG’s online sister operation, saves buyers from having to trawl through countless catalogues in search of items they may want to bid for. Instead, the online database scans thousands of lots across all catalogues posted on the-saleroom.com and automatically sends emails listing lots that meet their criteria to subscribers.

Through a simple online form you can insert details of items you want to find and tick the days of the week you want to receive your emailed results. The email also flags up items that you can bid for online.

Until now, each entry for email alerts has allowed subscribers to list a maximum of ten searches for their £5.95 monthly fee. That has now doubled to 20, with no rise in subscription costs.
