Before he died in a motorcycle accident in July, Mr Allen, was organising an auction of promises for the all-girls private boarding school where he was both a governor and chairman of the Moreton Hall Foundation.
In association with Stephen Whittaker of Birmingham’s Fellow and Sons (who has a daughter at the school), Halls of Shrewsbury will now conduct the sale with funds raised going to the Richard Allen Award. An auction of promises will be held at Moreton Hall School on November 10, with the proceeds helping to fund a scholarship in the name of the late Shropshire auctioneer Richard Allen.
