The two medals from the Crimean War which have been reunited.
Sgt Frederick Minster of the Scot's Guards won a Distinguished Conduct Medal for gallantry in November 1855, the highest bravery award available to soldiers and non-commissioned officers at the time.
He was wounded at Inkerman but was awarded the Crimean War medal with four clasps for that battle and Sebastopol, Alma and Balaklava.
By a remarkable coincidence, the medals had been consigned separately to the same sale. The buyer paid £1550 for Minster's Distinguished Conduct Medal and £460 for his Crimean War medal.
