The new corporate logo in vibrant purple is part of what saleroom manager Kevin Kendal calls “a response to the modern era of auctioneering where reusing and recycling is cool, geography is no barrier to bidding and the clever way to furnish your home is through auction.”

He believes the saleroom, members of the Society of Fine Art Auctioneers and Valuers with purpose-built premises on Sandylands Road, off Appleby Road, Kendal, has a new message to deliver to a new generation of buyers who haven’t yet recognised what is on offer at their local auction room.

“We’ve been experimenting with a monthly two-day sale where there is something for everyone from the specialist collector to someone who needs to furnish their home on a budget. We have sold lots ranging from flat screen TVs to 17th century oak furniture and they are proving very popular.” He is keen to emphasise the green credentials of buying at auction and the ease of bidding on the internet.

“Our recent trial of live bidding has been hugely successful… you don’t have to take time off work to buy from us.”
