Great Grooms owner James Podger has revealed that he was awoken in the early hours of December 13 by the centre's alarm monitoring centre to be told that a ramraid attempt was in progress.

"A witness saw a dark 4x4 manoeuvre as close to the door as possible," he explained." Prevented by the ramraid bollard, they used a large wooden post out of the back of the vehicle. This snapped after several failed attempts due to the reinforced steel door and frame and the thieves fled emptyhanded."
