Measuring6½in (16.5cm) and weighing 10.7oz, the cup is modelled in the form of a hound's head and would have been traditionally used for drinking port or sherry at hunt meets.

It bears assay marks for London 1876 and was designed by Victorian silversmith Robert Hennell.
