The main event of the 2013 National Antiques Week saw 21-year-old Tim Medhurst, coin specialist with Colchester auctioneers Reeman Dansie, take the award as the leading Young Gun of the antiques trade.
Tim was the youngest on the shortlist of 12 finalists and impressed the judges with his determination to bring a new vigour to a field that is often seen as old and stuffy.
The two runners-up were Chris Oxley, 36, who now runs the family firm P. A. Oxley Clocks in Wiltshire with his mother, and Keeley Harris, 36, from York, who runs Discover Vintage and Vintage Emporium.
The judges' special award went to Alys Dobbie who won the chance to take a free booth at Alfie's Antiques Market in London for two months this summer in June and July.
The Homes & Antiques Awards 2013, which were decided by a public vote based on an original shortlist of 24, saw Georgian Antiques of Edinburgh become antiques shop of the year, Brackley Antique Cellar antiques centre of the year and Barter Books of Alnwick best vintage shop.
Barn Antiques Centre of Long Marston won the People's Choice award for most votes for a business not on the shortlists.
