The online-only sales of 400-600 lots of jewellery, silver, objects of vertu and a rotating offering of either watches, vintage fountain pens or coins will be held across a series of timed sessions on the first Wednesday of each month.

With items priced from £50 to over £2000, they replace a monthly sale previously held at the Donnington Priory saleroom.

To ease the transition, the team at Donnington Priory will initially be operating computers in the room to aid traditional buyers or for those wanting to collect on the day. Both live and pre-sale bidding can be executed on the site, or bidders can leave commission bids with Dreweatts & Bloomsbury in the usual way.

The lots will still be able to view at Donnington Priory where Dreweatts' specialists and the team from The Auction Room will be on hand to offer condition reports and provide additional images.

The online monthly sale is exclusive to small portable items, with the remainder of Dreweatts & Bloomsbury Auctions' sale calendar remaining in its traditional format. The follow-up sale will be on March 4.
