• Portrait of Gertrud Loew, by Gustav Klimt - £22 at Sotheby's London in June 2015. Consigned following a settlement between the heirs of the painting's subject and the Klimt Foundation. The picture was lost when the Nazis took possession of the Felsovanyi family home in Vienna in 1939.
• Le Boulevard Montmartre, by Camille Pissarro - £17.5m at Sotheby's London, February 2014. Subject to a forced sale by the Nazis in 1935, the picture was restituted to the family of Jewish industrialist Max Silberberg.
• Summer Evening on the Alster, Max Liebermann - £750,000 at Sotheby's London, February 2014. Confiscated by the Nazis in August 1941, it was restituted to the heirs of Leipzig collectors Dr Gustav and Clara Kirstein in 2013.
• Young Woman on the Beach, an aquatint print by Edvard Munch (one of only 11 known impressions) - £1.85m at Christie's London on March 2013. Formerly in the collection of the art historian and director of the State Museums in Berlin, Curt Glaser, it was one of the works he was forced to sell after being dismissed from his position by the Nazis in 1933. It was restituted to Glaser's heirs in 2012.
• Litzlberg am Attersee, a landscape by Gustav Klimt - $36m (£23.7m) at Sotheby's New York in November 2011. Restituted to the descendants of Austrian iron magnate Viktor Zuckerkandl, from whom it was stolen after the Nazi annexation of Austria in 1938.
• Adele Bloch-Bauer II, by Gustav Klimt - $78.5m (£43.4m) at Christie's New York in November 2006. One of four Klimt oils that sold at this landmark auction that followed a ruling in 2006 by an Austrian arbitration panel that Vienna's Gallery Belvedere should return the paintings to the Bloch-Bauer heirs. The pictures were left behind when the sitter's widowed husband fled Austria to Prague after the Nazi's annexation of the country in 1938.
