A first edition of 1640 holds the record for any printed book when a copy sold for $12.5m (£8.1m) at Sotheby's NY in November 2013.
An auction record was set for a Thomas Jefferson Observations sur la Virginie, first published edition, Paris, 1786 which sold for $47,500 (£32,580).
