This oil on panel painting Figures Skating on a Frozen River by Dutch artist Fredrick Marinus Kruseman measures 11 x 15 ½ in (28 x 38cm) and is priced in the region of £65,000-75,000 at Haynes Fine Art stand at the Mayfair Antiques & Fine Art Fair between January 5-8.
2. Christmas brooches
Vintage jewellery dealer Gillian Horsup is offering for sale these jolly vintage Christmassy brooches: a Butler & Wilson dog wearing a top hat at £78 and a Christabel of London tree brooch at £88. Horsup sells her costume jewellery vintage wares at Grays Antiques Centre in Mayfair, Covent Garden, Camden Passage and at a number of London fairs including Alexandra Palace.
3. The Season of Winter
This snowy scene was sold at Sotheby's Old Masters Evening Sale earlier this month. The Jacob Savery the Elder The Season of Winter: A snowy landscape with a wedding procession was estimated at £200,000-300,000 and sold for a premium inclusive £368,750.
4. Robert Lenkiewicz Christmas card
This Robert Lenkiewicz (1941-2002) Christmas card was offered at Plymouth Auction Rooms earlier this month with a £40-60 estimate and sold at £50. The limited edition is number 210 of 300.
5. The Nativity
It wouldn't be Christmas without a nativity scene. The Nativity by Bicci di Lorenzo, Florence (1373–1452), was estimated at £300,000-500,000 at Sotheby’s Old Masters Evening Sale earlier this month and sold for a premium inclusive £368,750.
