Absolute Recovery based in Doncaster have been appointed as liquidators following a creditors’ meeting on April 29.
David Hines of Absolute told ATG the number of creditors (most of them unpaid vendors) stands at 60 with the total outstanding put at £178,000.
Football Sport Auctions Limited (company number 07464963) was owned by Andrew Lane, 43, of Prenton, Wirral, who conducted regular sales of football programmes and related memorabilia.
Some stock is understood to be in possession of Lane but will be returned to the owners within the next few weeks.
Chatrooms have included Accusations of Lane’s failure to pay consignors for items sold in previous sales while accepting consignments for future auctions appeared in online chatrooms.
Lane often told clients he himself had not been paid – pointing to his terms and conditions that allowed 120 days for payment.
