The training day - conducted by freelance auctioneer Roger Hollest who took his first sale in 1974 - will be split into two sessions.
The morning will cover the legal position of an auctioneer and all aspects of taking a sale including appearance, use of voice and a typical auctioneers book.
In the afternoon, each candidate will have the opportunity to sell a few lots (not in a real sale) and receive constructive criticism. The cost of the day will be £50 with booking available via the RICS website under the section titled Training & Events.
