Launched by Ronnie Davies and Tim Pearson, the co-organisers of a series of toy and train fairs in Cirencester and Didcot, the new fair in Wiltshire will take place in the college’s Norwood Hall on October 29.
Compared to the other events they operate under their Retro Ronnie Fairs banner, this fair will offer a broader range of collectables including contemporary works, vintage & retro items as well as antiques.
“We wanted to broaden the scope so we are hoping to attract specialists in militaria, vintage, automobilia and ephemera,” said Davies. “I am particularly keen to sign up a dealer in railwayana too.’’
The organisers said they would also particularly welcome dealers local to the Marlborough area.
Davies himself will be bringing vinyl records to sell at the fair. The majority of his stock will be from the 1950s to ’70s and includes rock n’ roll, jazz, classic blues, R&B, Northern Soul, ’50s funk, progressive rock, ’70s pop and punk.
Marlborough College is one of the top five public schools in the country whose alumni includes the poet John Betjeman and the comedian Jack Whitehall.
The new fair at will take place on Saturday October 29th, with doors opening at 10am. Phone Ronnie Davies on 07708 385061 regarding exhibiting at the fair.
