The collection of screens, rugs, furniture, drawing and paintings are from the estate of Peter Waugh, son of Alec and nephew of Evelyn Waugh. He was also a friend of Duncan Grant, who lived close by in Berkshire, and of Paul Roche.
Among the oil paintings on offer is Still life with Oranges by Vanessa Bell (1879-1961), an oil on canvas signed with the artist’s initials and estimated at £6000-8000.
Another work on offer is Sheaves of Corn in a Landscape, a pastel inscribed ‘For Peter Waugh from Duncan Grant’. The estimate is £200-300.
Clothing and luggage owned by Alec Waugh will form part of a vintage clothing section.
