ABA members Worlds End Bookshop (Chelsea), BAS Books (Islington), Beaux Books (Hampshire) and Leo Cadogan have a collective stand at BADA 2017, which runs from March 15-21. They offer a variety of antiquarian books, photographs and first editions.

Giles Bird of BAS Books said that he hopes to meet new clients at the fair who are practiced and discerning collectors but who “might not yet have thought of adding to them through purchasing rare books of remarkable quality and interest, that are still often remarkably good value.”

Expanded event

Their appearance at BADA 2017 is a first glimpse of the festival Rare Books London 2017, of which ATG is official media partner, kicking off in May.

In previous years the simultaneous PBFA and ABA fairs have comprised Rare Books London, but this year it has expanded the length of its run and the breadth of its offering to encompass auctions, talks, exhibitions and book launches.

The festival kicks off at Bernard Quaritch on May 24 and will include such events as a talk on early science books at the Wellcome Library, a reading of Dr Johnson’s works at his London home and a lecture on book collecting at Bonhams as well as the PBFA ILEC fair and the ABA London International Antiquarian Book Fair.

The festival closes with the end of the Etc Ephemera Fair on June 11.

A new website with bookings information is set to launch in March.
