However real fans of Hamilton will be keen to hear about an event taking place next week.
Sotheby’s New York will auction a family archive of manuscripts by and relating to the real-life general and politician on January 18.
Hamilton (1755-1804) was one of the most influential figures in American history. He was aide-de-camp to General George Washington during the Revolution and a major general in the army. He was congressman, abolitionist, founder of the Bank of New York, New York state assemblyman, the US nation’s first Secretary of the Treasury and founder of the New York Post to name just a few of his achievements.

Sotheby’s said the 77 lots of mainly letters and manuscripts document “the highs and lows of Hamilton's brief and crowded life” giving an “unparalleled view of the arc of his career, as well as a glimpse of Hamilton as a husband, father, and friend.”
Hamilton re-entered the awareness of the wider public when Ron Chernow’s prize-winning and best-selling biography, Alexander Hamilton, was published in 2004.
This was followed by Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Broadway show Hamilton.
