He joins from the Metropolitan Museum of Art where he was research assistant in drawings and prints for the last four years.

A specialist in Italian Renaissance drawings, he has published a study of Leonardo da Vinci’s drawings from the Codex Atlanticus and helped to organise the loan exhibition dedicated to Michelangelo opening at the Met later this year.

Rinaldi will report to Christie’s recently appointed international head of drawings, Stijn Alsteens, who joined the firm last year.

Alsteens also came to Christie’s from the Met where he was formerly curator of drawings and prints.
