Among the highlights is a Japanese 18th century Edo Period suit of armour from the Tokugawa clan, estimated at £4000-6000, and a 17th century Edo Period black lacquer shield, painted with a coat of arms and monogram, guided at £2500-3500.
Lamaison was a charismatic and well-connected civil servant from Rotterdam whose links with diplomats and traders helped him to build his extensive collection.
The artefacts he acquired came from areas such as Borneo, Java and the Solomon Islands, and he also amassed a selection of 19th century Fijian Gatawaka clubs which will feature in the auction on September 29.
